The nation's second-largest dealer holding company sold 68,908 new and used vehicles during the period, up 16 percent from a year earlier. Revenue rose 17 percent to $2.7 billion.

Oppenheimer, which has an "outperform" rating on the stock, also raised its fiscal 2010 earnings estimate for Apple to $14.52 from $14.01 a share and fiscal 2011 estimate to $17.96.
